SAN ANTONIO —UTSA will make its second trip of the fall season to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex when it travels to Carrollton, Texas, for the Maridoe Intercollegiate on Saturday-Monday, Oct. 6-8, at Maridoe Golf Club (par 71/7,300 yards).
The Roadrunners will compete against Arkansas State, Boise State, Coastal Carolina, Houston, Indiana, New Mexico, North Florida, North Texas, Rice, SMU, Tennessee, Texas A&M and UT Arlington. UTSA is coming off an eighth-place showing at the Trinity Forest Invitational on Sept. 23-25 in Dallas. The Roadrunners carded a 2-under-par 850 (284-287-279) and were led by senior Sean Meehan, who tied for 15th place with a 5-under-par 208 (69-71-68) for his fifth top-20 finish in his last six tournaments.
The Roadrunners opened the season by winning their annual home tournament, the Lone Star Invitational, on Sept. 10-11 at TPC San Antonio's Oaks Course. UTSA posted a 2-over 578 (289-289) to finish two shots ahead of Arkansas State in the 15-team field. Meehan, who leads the team with a 69.6 stroke average, shared individual medalist honors after firing a 4-under 140 (68-72) and the San Antonio native earned Conference USA Golfer of the Week accolades for his performance.
