SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's golf team will travel to Littleton, Colo., to compete in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Friday-Sunday, Oct. 5-7, at Highlands Ranch Golf Club (par 72/6,513 yards).
The Roadrunners will face Cal Poly, Central Arkansas, Colorado State, Denver, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Ole Miss, Tulsa, UC Davis, Washington State and Wyoming in the three-day, 54-hole tournament. The Roadrunners finished third and set a pair of school records at last year's Ron Moore Intercollegiate. UTSA carded a 5-under-par 859, including a 7-under 281 in the final round, both program records. Madison Kidd was the top individual, as she tied for 10th place with a 3-under 213 (71-69-71), while Gonzalez tied for 13th with a 214 (71-73-70).
UTSA is coming off a tie for fifth place at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship on Sept. 16-18 in Knoxville, Tenn. Ana Gonzalez tied for eighth with a 217 (68-78-71) and Julie Houston finished in a tie for 12th with a 219 (72-75-72).
The Roadrunners opened the season by winning the Lady Maxwell Invitational on Aug. 31-Sept. 2 in Ardmore, Okla. Hannah Holzmann fired a 215 (69-71-75) to finish as runner-up, while Houston and Gonzalez tied for fourth (218) and seventh (221), respectively.
