SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's tennis team will open the 2018 dual-match season on Monday at No. 24 Texas Tech. First serve of the non-conference match is scheduled for 12 p.m. at McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock.
The Roadrunners return seven letter winners from last year's squad which posted a 6-18 record. The team also brought in a trio of newcomers, including a mid-season transfer – Javier Gonzalez.
SCOUTING TEXAS TECH
The Red Raiders (3-1) have won back-to-back matches, including a 7-0 victory against Midwestern State last Friday. Texas Tech's lone loss came in a 6-1 setback against 21st-ranked Florida State on Jan. 8 at the Rainbow Warrior Classic in Honolulu.
LAST MEETING
The two teams also met last season, as the Red Raiders posted a 4-0 victory on Feb. 10, 2017, in Lubbock.
UP NEXT
The Roadrunners will play its first two matches of the spring campaign on the road. UTSA will travel to Austin to face No. 8 Texas on Friday.
