SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA women's basketball team held its first practice of the 2018-19 season Wednesday afternoon under the direction of head coach Kristen Holt.
Holt, entering her second season at the realm, returns eight players from last season's squad, including three starters. The starting returners are Kourtney Kekec, the lone senior on the team, junior Marie Benson, who lead the team in 3-point field goal percentage, free throws made, rebounds, and steals and Tija Hawkins, who ranks 11th in offensive rebounds in the C-USA.
The Roadrunners welcome three newcomers to the team, including Charlotte Ellmore (Chelmsford, UK), Ryann Stearns (Wichita, Kan.) and Mandi Cooks (McPhearson, Kan.).
