Anderson notches second career high jump All-America honor

EUGENE, Ore. – Ty Anderson cleared 2.08m in the high jump to earn second team All-America honors on Friday at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He tied for 13th among the 24-competitor field.
 
Anderson was also a second team All-American as a sophomore in 2016 as he placed 12th in the high jump with a cleared height of 2.14m. He joins Keith Benford (2011 outdoor and 2012 indoor) as Roadrunners to collect multiple All-American honors in the high jump.
 
Despite the unsavory weather conditions of rain and 63 degrees, the Luling, Texas, native cleared the opening height of 2.08m on his first attempt. He then fouled on his three attempts at 2.13m to bow out of the competition.
 

ROADRUNNERS EARN THREE ALL-AMERICA HONORS
In addition to Anderson's second team USTFCCCA All-America honor, junior Patrick Prince was an honorable mention All-America in the 110m hurdles as he placed 20th with a time of 14.10 and senior Adrian Riley garnered a second team plaudit with his 12th-place finish in the decathlon with his 7,520-point total.
