Women's tennis rolls past UTEP, 4-1

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's tennis team cruised to a 4-1 victory over UTEP on Friday at the UTSA Tennis Center.

The Roadrunners (7-10) won the doubles point and then collected three wins in singles action to close out the match.

After jumping out to a 1-0 lead with the doubles victory, UTSA doubled its advantage as Diya Menon won by forfeit at the sixth spot.

Erandi Martinez picked up the Miners' lone point with a win at No. 3 singles.

Denisa Ibrahimovic then pushed the lead to 3-1 with a straight-sets triumph (6-3, 6-1) at the top spot.

Laura Cabrera finished off the match with a 7-5, 6-3 win at the second position.

The Roadrunners will conclude their home stand on Sunday against Louisiana Tech. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
