Roadrunners compete at Baylor Invitational on Saturday

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA track & field will send full teams to the Baylor Invitational in Waco on Saturday. The meet is the fourth of the season for the Roadrunners.
 
The event
The one-day meet gets underway at 10 a.m. with the men's and women's hammer throw at the Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium. Field events will continue throughout the day, concluding with the men's triple jump at 5 p.m. The action opens on the track with the 2,000m steeplechase at 3 p.m. and is scheduled to conclude around 7 p.m. with the running of the men's and women's 4x400m relays.  
 
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth, ages 2-17. All tickets are general admission.
 
Named after legendary Baylor track coach, Clyde Hart, the $18.1 million facility was dedicated on Dec. 5, 2014. The stadium accommodates 5,000 spectators and participants with seating on the front and back stretches.
 
The competition
In addition to the Roadrunners, the event will feature top men's and women's athletes from Abilene Christian, Baylor, DePaul, Incarnate Word, Minnesota (women only), Oklahoma Baptist, Oral Roberts, Oregon State, Prairie View A&M, North Texas, SMU, Texas Southern and UTA.
 
Roadrunner competitors
UTSA will field 89 total entries, 50 men and 37 women individual entries along with both the men's and women's 4x400m relays entering the starting blocks.
 
UTSA in the national rankings
Through the first three weeks of the outdoor season, the Roadrunners men have eight marks that rank among the top 50 nationally and the women two. Adrian Riley ranks sixth in the NCAA in the decathlon, Prince ranks 10th in the 110m hurdles, Gabriyella Torres ranks 23rd in the heptathlon and Danielle Spence 29th in the triple jump.
 
UTSA in the Conference USA rankings
The Roadrunners hold 60 top-10 positions on the Conference USA performance list. Top mark holders are Prince (110m hurdles), the women's 4x100m and 4x400m relays, Adrian Riley (long jump) and Andre Douglas (triple jump).
