Roadrunners to travel to Middle Tennessee this weekend

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA baseball team will continue its Conference USA schedule this weekend with a three-game series against Middle Tennessee at Reese Smith Jr. Field in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The set is slated to open at 6 p.m. Friday. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. first pitch, while the finale will be played at 1 p.m. Sunday.

ABOUT UTSA
The Roadrunners (22-17, 9-8 C-USA) enter the weekend in fourth place in the league standings. UTSA has won five of its last six outings, including an 11-1 win over crosstown foe Incarnate Word on Tuesday night. The Roadrunners also claimed two of three from FIU last weekend at the Bird Bath.

UTSA is among the league leaders on the mound. The Roadrunners rank third in C-USA with a 3.61 ERA, while boasting a league-leading .230 batting average against.

Meanwhile, the UTSA hitters are batting .274, which ranks ninth in the conference, and averaging six runs per game.

The Blue Raiders (21-20-1, 6-11-1 C-USA) sit in 10th place in the conference standings after dropping last weekend's series to then-No. 14 Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, Miss. Middle Tennessee snapped a three-game losing skid with a 10-4 win over Austin Peay on Tuesday night.

The Blue Raiders rank 10th in the league with a .273 batting average. Middle Tennessee's pitching staff owns a 6.00 ERA while giving up a conference-high 423 hits this spring.
