SAN ANTONIO – UTSA track & field will travel to San Marcos to compete in Friday and Saturday's Bobcat Classic at Texas State. The meet will serve as the final tune-up for the Roadrunners before the Conference USA championships on May 10-13.
The event
The two-day meet gets underway at 1 p.m. on Friday with the women's hammer throw. Field events will continue throughout the day, concluding with the men's pole vault and women's long jump in the 8 p.m. hour. The men's and women's 3,000m steeplechase are also being contested on Friday in the 9 p.m. hour.
Saturday's field events action gets started at 11 a.m. with the women's discus and concludes with the men's shot put in the 4 p.m. hour. The track events open at 3 p.m. and continue through the day with the final event, the men's 4x400m relay, scheduled for 6:20 p.m.
Admission for the meet will be $10 for adults, $5 for ages eight-18 and free for children seven and under.
Roadrunner competitors
UTSA will field 57 total entries, 29 men and 28 women individual entries. The Roadrunner men will enter two teams in the 4x400m relay, while the women will enter one.
UTSA in the national rankings
Through six weeks of the outdoor season, the Roadrunners men have 10 marks that rank among the top 100 nationally and the women four. Among the top-50, Adrian Riley ranks 16th in the NCAA in the decathlon and 22nd in the long jump, Ty Anderson 19th in the high jump and Patrick Prince ranks 15th in the 110m hurdles.
UTSA in the NCAA West Preliminary qualifying list
After six meets a total of eight Roadrunners stand in position to qualify for the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field West Preliminary via top-48 rankings (top 24 for relays) in the west region.

The Roadrunners hold 51 top-10 and 26 top-5 positions on the Conference USA performance list. Prince leads the way for the Roadrunners with the league's best 110m hurdles time (13.79).
