Roadrunners fall in Conference USA Championship opener

NORFOLK, Va. – The UTSA women's tennis dropped a 4-0 decision to Middle Tennessee in the opening round of the Conference USA Championship on Thursday at Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.

The Blue Raiders (18-7) clinched the doubles point and then picked up three singles victories to post the shutout win.

Kim Kermet clinched the final point for Middle Tennessee with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph at the third position.

The Roadrunners' season ends with an 8-12 overall record.

Laura Cabrera paced UTSA with a 14-4 record in singles play during the 2018 campaign. Charleen Tiwari also accumulated 10 victories to bolster the Roadrunners' singles contingent.
