SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's tennis team will travel to Mobile, Ala., this weekend to play a pair of matches. The Roadrunners will face Troy at 11 a.m. Saturday in a neutral-site contest and meet up with South Alabama at 11 a.m. a day later.
UTSA (4-6) is coming off a 4-0 victory against I-35 rival Texas State last Sunday at the UTSA Tennis Center. The Roadrunners won the doubles point and quickly captured three singles matchups to complete the shutout win.
Laura Cabrera leads the Birds with an 8-2 mark on the singles courts. Charleen Tiwari has won six of her 10 individual matches, while Denisa Ibrahimovic has four victories.
Tiwari and Ivana Ilic boast a team-high four wins at No. 3 doubles.
The Trojans (1-6) are looking to build on last Saturday's 6-1 victory over Nicholls State, the first of the spring season for the squad. Pei Ju Hsieh has netted two wins in dual-match singles action to pace Troy, while the duo of Efriliya Hernia and Jiayuan Xue are 3-1 on the doubles courts.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars (9-1) have won four consecutive contests, including last Thursday's 4-2 triumph at Louisiana-Lafayette. Yu Fujioka boasts a perfect 9-0 record between Nos. 3-5 singles, while Patricia Martins is also unbeaten with a 6-0 ledger in singles play this spring.
