SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team played Texas tight until the Longhorns hit a home run during the sixth inning as UTSA (10-9) fell 1-0 on Wednesday evening at Roadrunner Field.
After five scoreless innings, Texas (9-10) got on the board with a home run to left-center from Taylor Ellsworth to lead off the sixth inning. Overall, the Longhorns posted nine hits across seven innings.
Junior Bailee Baldwin registered UTSA's only hit with a single to left center in the bottom of the sixth.
In the circle, Texas's Brooke Bolinger (4-2) fanned 10 batters in seven complete innings of work to pick up the win. Freshman Madison Nelson (3-5) took the loss for the Roadrunners as she relinquished nine hits and the lone run.
