AUSTIN – UTSA closed its time at the 91st annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays with five top-10 finishes on Saturday afternoon.
Mia Hicks was the first Roadrunner to compete on Saturday, placing sixth in the 'B' section of the women's discus. The junior from Conroe, Texas finished with a best hurl of 48.21m. Hicks, who holds the UTSA discus record, achieved her best distance of the day on her second attempt in the circle.
The men's 4x800m relay team of Zack Kovar, Luca Chatham, Caleb Devereaux and Marcus Guajardo finished fourth with a time of 7:43.01. Kovar, a freshman, ran the 800m distance in 1:56.39, Chatham, a junior, in 1:51.33, Devereaux, a sophomore, in 1:55.75 and Guajardo, a sophomore, in 1:59.56.
De'Stini Henderson, Jennifer Arinze, Olivia Esemena, Darionne composed the Roadrunners' women's 4x200m relay team. The quartet crossed the line in 1:38.83 to place third in their heat and sixth overall in the 11-team field. The men's team of Kaleb Campbell, Byron Taylor, Jahkwan Blackley and Vasha Sheriff clocked a 1:25.48 to place third it their heat and eighth of 11 overall.
Patrick Prince, a junior from Conroe, Texas, ran a 13.80 in the finals of 110m hurdles, placing eighth overall. Prince's time is only .01 behind his season/career-best of 13.79 that he clocked on March 16 at the UTSA Invitational.
