AUSTIN – Patrick Prince highlighted UTSA's Friday at the 91st annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays as he advanced to the final of the 110m hurdles.
Prince, a junior from Conroe, Texas, clocked a 13.92 in the event to place third in his heat and seventh overall in the 63-competitor field. Prince advances to Saturday's final where he will compete live on the Longhorn Network at 2:10 p.m. Prince will line up against LSU's Damion Thomas, TAMU-Kingsville's Javier Lopez, Kennesaw's Dayo Akindele, Liberty's Jovaine Atkinson, Arkansas' Shakiel Chatoo, Georgia's Michael Nicholls, Houston's Amere Lattin and Barton County Community College's Charlie Forbes.
Freshman Jamiah Jackson, an Orlando, Fla., native, ran a personal-best 13.84 in the 100m hurdles, which was good for second in her heat and 25th in the 85-competitor field. Victoria Rausch also registered her collegiate-best in the event, stopping the clock in 13.87. The junior from Luxemborg placed second in her heat and 27th overall.
The women's 4x400m relay of Darionne Gibson, Jennifer Arinze, Sierra Arinze and Jamiah Jackson placed 11th in the preliminary round with a time of 3:42.92. The quartet placed fourth in their heat. Meanwhile, the men's 4x400m team of Andrew Pirog, Vasha Sheriff, Austin Crocker and Byron Taylor came home 13th in the prelim with a time of 3:11.34, which was third in their heat.
The Roadrunners' time at the Texas Relays concludes on Saturday with Mia Hicks competing in the discus, the running of the 4x800m and 4x200m relays and Prince running in the final of the 110m hurdles.
