SAN ANTONIO – Nearly 35 NFL coaches, scouts and player personnel representatives from all 32 NFL franchises were on UTSA's campus for football's annual Pro Day on Wednesday afternoon at the UTSA practice fields.
Showcasing their skills were 17 current or former Roadrunner standouts, including Conference USA Defensive Player of the Marcus Davenport, C-USA all-conference selections La'Kel Bass, Mat Bayliss and Josh Stewart, College Gridiron Showcase participant Devron Davis, SPIRAL Tropical Bowl participant Nate Gaines, William V. Campbell Trophy semifinalist Brady Jones and College Gridiron Showcase Offensive MVP Dalton Sturm.
The workout began at the Pat Clynes Family Strength & Conditioning Center, where the player's measurements were taken (height/weight/arm length/hand size) and that was followed by the vertical and broad jumps, as well as 225-pound bench press.
The event then moved to the practice fields, where the players ran the 40-yard dash twice, along with the three-cone drill and a pair of shuttle runs (20 & 60 yards).
The day concluded with individual workouts by position group, followed by interviews with local, regional and national media representatives.
