IRVING, Texas – UTSA senior Adrian Riley has been named the Conference USA Track & Field Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 25, the league office announced Tuesday.
Riley competed in his first decathlon of the 2018 season at the Roadrunners Invitational, winning the event with a personal-best 7,437-point total. The score currently leads not only Conference USA but ranks tops in the NCAA and second on the UTSA all-time list.
Riley placed first in seven of the 10 events, including a staggering 7.80m wind-aided long jump. More impressive, Riley also counted a wind-legal long jump of 7.77m, which good for fourth in the UTSA record book. The Kingston, Jamaica, native also set a personal-best in the high jump with a clearance of 2.03m on his ninth leap of the day.

Select Roadrunners return to action this week at the 2018 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin from March 29-31. The next team meet is set for Saturday, April 7 at Baylor.
