UTSA overpowers SMU on Saturday, 4-2

DALLAS – The UTSA men's tennis team rolled to a 4-2 victory over SMU on Saturday at the SMU Tennis Complex.

The Roadrunners (10-9) jumped out to a 3-0 lead before earning the two-point victory on the road.

Joao Ceolin captured the clinching point with his 7-5, 7-5 triumph at No. 5 singles.

Javier Gonzalez and Juri Reckow also won in straight sets in singles play.

UTSA will host a Conference USA pod March 30-31 at the McFarlin Tennis Center in San Antonio. Rice, Southern Miss and UAB will join the Roadrunners for the weekend round-robin tournament.

UTSA Head Coach Rodrigo da Silva on the win...
"I'm very happy with the team's performance. I think it was the first time this year that we had an even effort from all eight guys. I'm happy with the way we bounced back after a tough loss against Wichita State."
