San Antonio - In its last game of the regular season, the UTSA women's basketball team will host the UAB Blazers (23-5, 12-3 C-USA) on Saturday, March 3, at the Convocation Center for its annual 'Senior Day' game.
UAB game overview
UTSA (8-19, 6-9 C-USA) will wrap up Conference USA play Saturday afternoon against UAB. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. CT at the Convocation Center in San Antonio and will be streamed on CUSA.tv with Stu Paul providing play-by-play.
Senior Day
Saturday's game against UAB will be 'Senior Day' as UTSA athletics and women's basketball honor the contributions and accomplishments of Crystal Chidomere, Carlie Heineman and Billie Marlow.
Inside the series: Tied 2-2
UTSA and UAB have met four times in the past four years with the teams first meeting on Feb. 12, 2014. The all-time series is tied 2-2 as the Blazers won the first two meetings at home and the Roadrunners claimed back-to-back wins in the past two seasons. Last year, UTSA posted a strong 82-67 win on the road behind six triples from Carlie Heineman.
Getting to know UAB
UAB is looking for its 13th conference win of the season, after only dropping three for the year. Most recently, UAB picked up a 69-51 win on the road against conference foe North Texas on Thursday. Rachael Childress leads the Blazers offense, scoring 390 points this season to average 13.9 points per game. In addition, Deanna Kuzamanic has recorded 383 giving her a 13.7 per game average. The junior guard holds the teams' best free throw percentage (.930) hitting 53-of-57. While Kara Rawls paces UAB with 214 total rebounds to average 7.9 per game.
Roadrunner Numbers
UTSA is led by Crystal Chidomere's 14.5 points per game and Marie Benson's 9.3 rebounds per game. Chidomere also leads the team in assists (66) and blocks (27), while her and Benson are tied in steals (33). Carlie Heineman is the team's top 3-point threat (63 makes). The Roadrunners are also tied for second in Conference USA in blocked shots (3.7).

Crystal Chidomere has led the Roadrunners with 29 points in UTSA's win over UTEP on Friday, Feb. 23. The senior has recorded seven 20+ points games this season: UT-Arlington -26 points, UTRGV -24 points, San Diego – 23 points, ODU -29 points, Florida Atlantic – 20 points, Marshall – 26 points, UTEP – 29 points.

UTSA has forced three teams to 21 turnovers this season. The Roadrunners pushed Sul Ross State, North Dakota and UTEP to 21 turnovers, the most this season. Overall, UTSA has forced ten teams to 15 or more turnovers this

Jockeying for seeding position
• UTSA, which was selected 11th in the Conference USA preseason poll, is currently tied for ninth in the league standings.
• With six conference wins UTSA has qualified as one of the top-12 teams heading to Frisco for the 2018 C-USA Championship Tournament. The Roadrunners finished above FIU (4-11) and Marshall (3-13). The Roadrunners are currently tied with North Texas (6-9), UTEP (6-9) and Old Dominion (6-9) with one more game left to play.
