Baseball to open Conference USA action at No. 15 Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – UTSA will begin Conference USA play this weekend with a three-game series at No. 15 Southern Miss. The set opens at 6 p.m. at Pete Taylor Park. The second game of the series is scheduled to be played at 2 p.m. Saturday with Sunday's finale slated to start at 1 p.m.

The Roadrunners (7-8, 0-0 C-USA) have won two of their last three outings, but dropped a 5-2 decision at Texas State on Tuesday.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP
UTSA and Southern Miss met five times a year ago, including twice in the C-USA Tournament in Biloxi, Miss. The Golden Eagles ended the Roadrunners' season with a 7-1 victory in an elimination game. This took place just two days after UTSA opened the championship with a 9-2 victory over Southern Miss.

The Golden Eagles have won eight of the last 10 matchups between the two teams, including a three-game sweep the last time the two teams met in Hattiesburg, which was in 2016.

Southern Miss leads the all-time series, 11-5, which dates back to the 2014 campaign.
