About the CIT
• The CIT features five rounds of play over the next three weeks. The semifinals (March 28, 6 p.m. CT) and championship game (March 30, 7 p.m. CT) will be televised live on CBS Sports Network.
• This is the 10th anniversary of the CIT and the tournament has served as a showcase for talented players and programs from across the nation. The CIT was created to provide an opportunity to participate in postseason for deserving programs not selected to play in the NCAA Tournament or the NIT.
• The 20-team field is made up of non-Power 5 programs, not selected to participate in the NCAA or NIT (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, PAC-12 and SEC teams are not considered). Games are played on campus sites. In an effort to minimize travel and limit missed class time, the CIT uses the old NIT model, with future round opponents determined by results of the previous round, ensuring geographic stability. The 2009 and 2010 tournaments were contested by 16 teams. The 2011 CIT consisted of 24 teams and adopted its current format 2012.
• This year's field includes the Roadrunners, Lamar, Wofford, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Sam Houston State, Central Michigan, Fort Wayne, Abilene Christian, Drake, North Carolina A&T, Liberty, Hartford, San Diego, Saint Francis (PA), UIC, Niagara, Eastern Michigan, UL Monroe and Austin Peay.

UTSA in the postseason
• UTSA is making its fifth postseason appearance in the program's 37-year history, joining the NCAA Tournament teams of 1988, 1999, 2004 and 2011. The Roadrunners will look to earn the program's second postseason victory in program history, accompanying the 2011 squad that defeated Alabama State 70-61 in the NCAA First Four.
• The Roadrunners, owners of a 186 RPI, enter the CIT boasting an 19-14 overall record and fresh off a Conference USA Championship quarterfinal appearance after placing fifth in C-USA's regular season standings.

1-1 at C-USA Championship
• UTSA, the No. 5 seed, went 1-1 at the 2018 Conference USA Championship with a first round win over No. 12 seed UTEP (71-58) and a loss to fourth-seeded and eventual champion Marshall (95-81).
• Byron Frohnen led the Roadrunners at the tournament, averaging a 15.0-point, 13.5 rebound double-double. The sophomore scored 14 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds against UTEP, then scored 16 and totaled 13 rebounds against Marshall. The double-double were his first two of the season.
• UTSA played a total of eight players at the tournament with six averaging double-figures, Frohnen, who shot a combined 70.0 percent in the two games, led the way with a 15.0 points per game average. He was followed by George Willborn III and Nick Allen with 12.5 averages. Deon Lyle (11.5), Giovanni De Nicolao (11.0) and Keaton Wallace (10.0) round out the six.

Defending home court
• In the two seasons under head coach Steve Henson, UTSA has posted a 22-6 record at the Convocation Center. The Roadrunners went 11-3 at home last season and are 11-3 this season.
• Prior to these two seasons, UTSA last posted consecutive 11-win home seasons when the program went 11-3 in 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11 as members of the Southland Conference.
• The 1991-92 team was the last Roadrunners squad to win more than 11 games at the Convocation Center, finishing 14-1.

3-Point Record
• After making just 172 3-pointers all of last year, the 2017-18 Roadrunners have set the UTSA single-season team 3-point field goals made record with 335. The previous record was 272 by the 2011-12 squad.
• The Roadrunners' 10.2 triples per game lead Conference USA and ranks 19th in the NCAA.
• UTSA's 335 makes this season rank fifth on the Conference USA single season list. The conference record is 375 by the 2007-08 Houston Cougars.
• Newcomers Deon Lyle, Jhivvan Jackson and Keaton Wallace lead the Roadrunners from deep with 91, 77 and 69 made triples, respectively. In addition, junior big man Nick Allen has stepped out to hit 31 threes, which is 11 more than his first two seasons combined.

Deon Lyle's threes
• Deon Lyle leads the Roadrunners with 91 3-pointers this season, despite averaging only 19.1 minutes per game with his first 29 appearances coming off the bench. His 41.2 percentage (91 of 221) from deep ranks eighth in Conference USA and 52nd among NCAA long-range bombers who average at least 2.5 made triples per game.
• The junior has made at least three 3-pointers in 15 games, including a UTSA season-high eight at Rice (March 3), and has tallied 25 games with multiple deep makes.
• Lyle's 91 makes rank third on the UTSA single-season list and are only five short of tying Marlon Anderson, who made 96 threes in both 1994-95 and 1995-96, for the program's single-season record.

Frohnen on the boards
• Sophomore forward Byron Frohnen leads UTSA and ranks eighth in Conference USA with a per game average of 7.4 rebounds.
• Frohnen, who starts at power forward, but also spends time at small forward, has totaled 243 total rebounds with 179 coming on the defensive end.
• The Las Vegas native has led the Roadrunners on the glass in 18 games, including a career-high 14 against UTEP to open the C-USA tournament.
• Frohnen's 464 rebounds in only 66 career games is 10th on the UTSA career list. He needs four more to supplant Calvin Haynes (467 in 108 games from 1983-87) for ninth.
