SAN ANTONIO – Columbia posted four extra-base hits, including a pair of home runs, to defeat UTSA, 9-3, in the series finale on Friday night at Roadrunner Field.

The Roadrunners (5-6) fell behind 5-0 before scoring their first run in the fourth inning on Ben Brookover's RBI double.

However, the Lions (2-7) hit back-to-back home runs in the following panel to extend their lead to 7-1.

Columbia tacked on two more tallies in the top of the sixth to push its advantage to 9-1.

Brookover again came through in the bottom-half of the stanza with an RBI single.

UTSA's final score came on Dylan Rock's solo homer in the seventh.

Ty Wiest (1-2) earned the win on the mound for the Lions. The right-hander scattered six hits and two runs (one earned) with a walk and four strikeouts over six innings of work.

Derek Craft (1-1) suffered his first loss of the season, as he surrendered five runs on five hits in 2.1 innings. The junior right-hander also walked two and struck out three in his second start of the year.

Brookover finished with two hits in four at-bats and two RBIs.
