SAN ANTONIO – Sam Houston State spoiled UTSA's spring home opener on Saturday, as the Bearkats netted a 6-1 victory at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners (2-1) suffered their first loss of the campaign after capturing only one point in singles competition.
Meanwhile, Sam Houston State (2-2) evened its record with five of six singles matchup victories and a point in doubles play.
UTSA's lone point came at the fifth singles position, as Laura Cabrera earned a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Mila Milanovic. Cabrera improved to 3-0 in singles competition this spring.
The Roadrunners will return to action Sunday, as the squad will travel across town to face Incarnate Word. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Clarence Mabry Tennis Center.
