NATCHITOCHES, La. – The UTSA women's tennis team was defeated by Northwestern State, 5-2, on Sunday at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
The Roadrunners (3-5) dropped the doubles point and earned only two victories in singles competition.
With UTSA trailing 4-0, Denisa Ibrahimovic won a 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (10-4) decision over Polina Mutel at the top position. Charleen Tiwari won her fifth singles matchup of the campaign after she upended Ela Iwaniuk at the fourth spot, 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7).
Laura Cabrera suffered her first singles loss of the dual-match season. She was on the wrong side of a 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) decision after moving up to the second flight.

With the five-match road trip complete, the Roadrunners will return to San Antonio to face Eastern Michigan on Friday, Feb. 23, at the UTSA Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
