PRAIRIE VIEW – For the second time in as many seasons, UTSA is off to a 2-0 start thanks to a 5-2 victory at Prairie View A&M on Monday.
The Roadrunners (2-0), who edged Stephen F. Austin 4-3 a day ago, wrapped up their road trip with another strong performance in singles play.
The Panthers (0-5) captured the doubles point and mustered one more in singles play, but UTSA collected all of its points in individual matchups. Four of the five wins were in straight sets, including Denisa Ibrahimovic's 6-0, 6-0 win at the top spot.
Sonia Madroñal teamed up with Laura Cabrera for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles, and Madroñal also earned a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Tatiana Ruhl at the fifth singles position.

The Roadrunners will return to San Antonio to open its home slate against Sam Houston State on Saturday, Feb. 3. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
