IRVING, Texas – UTSA senior Adrian Riley has been named the Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Male Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 14, the league office announced Tuesday.
Riley, a senior from Kingston, Jamaica, won the long jump event title at the Ted Nelson Invitational in College Station on Jan. 13 with a distance of 7.47m (24' 6"). Riley cleared the distance on his first attempt of the day to defeat 17 other competitors en route to the event win.
Riley's 7.47m leap is a personal-best and ranks fourth on the UTSA all-time list. Moreover, the distance leads Conference USA and ranks 15th in the NCAA.
Riley and the Roadrunners return to action on Friday, Jan. 19 at the Texas Tech Red Raider Invitational.
