SAN ANTONIO — UTSA Athletics and Learfield's Roadrunners Sports Properties announced on Friday that the sixth season of "UTSA Football Insider" will begin with two weekly show times next week.
The 30-minute television show originally was scheduled to debut this evening, but since the UTSA-Houston game will not be played on Saturday, it now will debut statewide at 5:30 p.m. next Friday, Sept. 8, on AT&T SportsNet Southwest (formerly ROOT Sports Southwest). It will air again locally at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, on KMYS-CW 35 San Antonio as part of the new Citywide Sports Network, and it will continue weekly throughout the season at both time slots. Thirteen episodes are slated for production by San Antonio's Quarter Moon Productions. Host Mike Lefko and reporters Valerie Lopez and Brooke Shoemaker give fans an all-access look at all aspects of the program with game highlights, previews, interviews, features stories and activities around the UTSA campus.
The Roadrunners will open their seventh season of play and second under head coach Frank Wilson on Saturday, Sept. 9, when they travel to Waco for a 7 p.m. contest against Baylor.
