Series history vs. Bethany
• There is no series history between the Roadrunners and Bethany. However, there is a connection between the two programs. Bethany head coach Dan O'Dowd, who is in his first season in charge of the Swedes, served as an assistant coach at UTSA for 10 seasons (2006-16).
Henson's connection to Bethany College
• UTSA head coach Steve Henson has a special connection to the Bethany College Swedes. Henson's father, Mike Henson, was a basketball student-athlete at Bethany from 1968-72. During that time, the younger Henson was often in attendance at his father's games sporting a Swede costume his mother fashioned for him.
Roadrunners have a stranglehold on weekly C-USA freshman honor
• UTSA freshmen Keaton Wallace and Jhivvan Jackson have combined to win four the Conference USA's Freshman of the Week honors through the season's initial five weeks.
• Wallace, who picked up his second consecutive honor on Monday (Dec. 11), has been bestowed the honor three times (Nov. 13, Dec. 4, Dec. 11), while Jackson earned the weekly honor on Nov. 20.
• Head coach Steve Henson has now coached eight C-USA Freshman of the Week award winners – the four this season along with Byron Frohnen's three last season and Giovanni De Nicolao's one.
• UTSA had never produced a C-USA Freshman of the Week honoree prior to Henson's arrival.
Wallace and Frohnen net career-highs against Houston Baptist
• Keaton Wallace totaled a team and career-high 24 points (7 FG, 5 3FG) in 32 minutes to go along with three boards and three assists against Houston Baptist (12/9). He scored six points in the opening 20 minutes against HBU and 18 in the second half. After HBU cut the UTSA lead to five with 6:26 to play, Wallace made threes on back-to-back possessions as part of 10 total points in a 14-3 run that put the game away.
• Byron Frohnen equaled his career-high with 18 points (6 FG, 6 FT) against the Huskies. The Las Vegas native led UTSA with 12 points at the half as he totaled three buckets and six at the free-throw line. He followed with a 3 of 3 effort in the second half to tie his career-high that was originally established at Prairie View A&M on Nov. 19, 2016.
UTSA's numbers are soaring in year two of Henson era
• Through 11 games, UTSA has deployed an up-tempo offensive style that vastly contrasts last season's offense. In the 11 games the Roadrunners have combined to shoot 44.4 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from 3-point range en route to an 85.8 points per game average -- which ranks third in C-USA and 27th in the NCAA. Comparatively, the 2016-17 team shot 39.3 percent overall and a mere 28.3 percent from deep, while averaging 66.0 points per outing. Moreover, the 2016-17 team did not reach 90 points in 31 games, while this season's squad has already broken the barrier four times.
