DENTON – North Texas scored four first-half goals and cruised to a 4-0 victory over UTSA in Conference USA action on Sunday afternoon at the Mean Green Soccer Complex.
The Mean Green (9-2-2, 4-0-1 C-USA) received two scores from Lauryn Bruffett to pace the hosts.
Aaliyah Nolan started the scoring in the 10th minute after she found the back of the net for the fourth time this season.
Bruffett's first goal came in the 22nd minute off an assist by Dominique James.
Six minutes later Natalie Newell put North Texas ahead 3-0 with a goal off a pass by Taylor Torres.
Bruffett struck again in the 45th minute for her second score of the game.
The Mean Green outshot the Roadrunners (2-11, 1-5 C-USA) 23 to 12, including a 12 to 4 margin in shots on goal.
Michelle Cole made eight saves in net for UTSA.
The Roadrunners will resume play on Sunday, Oct. 15, against UAB. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Park West Athletics Complex and admission is free.
