DALLAS — Julie Houston tied for 21st place to lead the UTSA women's golf team to 13th at the Trinity Forest Invitational on Tuesday at Trinity Forest Golf Club (par 72/6,372 yards).
Houston carded a 229 (73-74-82) behind a team-high 31 pars and six birdies during the 54-hole event en route to the third top-25 finish of her junior campaign.
Meanwhile, Ana Gonzalez and Nikki Long each fired a 79 on Tuesday, the Roadrunners' low score of the day.
Gonzalez, a freshman from Mexico, finished in a tie for 26th with a 230 (77-74-79) on the strength of a team-best 10 birdies, while Long, a senior from San Antonio was 67th with a 247 (82-86-79).
Becky McGeehan tied for 56th (79-80-80—239) and Madison Kidd tied for 63rd (78-85-80—243).
UTSA turned in a 938 (307-313-318) to place 13th in the team race won by Kansas State (893). No. 27 Houston was second (895), followed by No. 30 Tennessee (910), No. 39 Texas A&M (911) and 29th-ranked Texas Tech (913) in the top five.
Reid Isaac of Kansas State took home individual medalist honors with a 215 (72-69-74).
The Roadrunners will return to action on Feb. 12-13 at the Texas State Invitational in Kyle, Texas.
