SAN MARCOS — UTSA sophomore Laura Cabrera was crowned the winner of the Texas State Play Day Tournament on Saturday.
The Barcelona, Spain, native posted a perfect 3-0 record on the day, including a 2-0 mark in singles action. She dropped only two games in individual matchups, while she and teammate Sonia Madroñal also won their only doubles contest.
Overall, the Roadrunners collected 14 victories during the one-day event. UTSA was 3-1 in doubles competition and 11-3 on the singles courts.
The Roadrunners will wrap up their fall campaign Oct. 28-29 at the Sam Houston State Fall Invite in Huntsville.
