SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's and women's cross country programs will compete in their final tune-up before the Conference USA Championship on Friday at the HBU Invitational.
The event
The HBU Invitational will be contested MacGregor Park in Houston. The course will be run at a 5,000-meter distance for women's race and have a five-mile setup for the men's event. The women's race will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men 6 p.m.
The competition
The HBU Invitational will a distinctly Texas look as both the men's and women's programs from Houston Baptist, Rice, Texas Southern and UTSA are schedule to complete along with individuals from Houston and the Prairie View A&M and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's teams.
Representing the Roadrunners
A total of 28 Roadrunners – 15 men and 13 women – are scheduled to compete at the event. Among those toeing the starting line are veteran harriers Yulisa Abundis, Hunter Hawkins, Charlette Janicek, John von Dohlen and Emily Voss.
Abundis has paced the Roadrunner women in both events she has competed in this season, while von Dohlen was the second Bird across the line at the men's last five-mile event.

"We are excited to compete at Houston Baptist on Friday. This will be our final competition before the Conference USA Championships. As we continue to move along in the season, we are eager to see how much we have progressed and I believe it will show this weekend."
