UTSA shut out by Charlotte on Sunday afternoon, 3-0

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Charlotte in Conference USA play on Sunday afternoon at Park West Athletics Complex.

The 49ers (8-5, 3-1 C-USA) led 1-0 at halftime, before Martha Thomas found the back of the net twice in the final 45 minutes.

The Roadrunners (2-9, 1-3 C-USA) were limited to four shots in the contest.

Jordyn Lacy had UTSA's best scoring chance in the 26th minute. The sophomore maneuvered around a defender and made her way into the box before taking a left-footed shot that forced Charlotte goalkeeper Abby Stapleton to stretch out and knock away with her right hand.

The Roadrunners picked up one shot in the final period, as Cailey Elder put a header over the crossbar on a service in the box by Ellis Patterson.

UTSA will return to action on Friday, Oct. 6, at Rice.
