IRVING — UTSA's 2017 season got off to an unofficial start this week when second-year head coach Frank Wilson, senior wide receiver Josh Stewart and sophomore linebacker Josiah Tauaefa participated in the Conference USA Football Kickoff at the DFW Marriott North.
The UTSA trio met with the conference's broadcast partners (STADIUM/beIN Sports), along with print and electronic media on Wednesday before previewing the upcoming campaign with Ron Thulin in front of a national audience on Facebook Live.
Wednesday night featured a night of food, fun and games for the student-athletes at Pinstack Entertainment in Irving, while Wilson met with the league's bowl partners over dinner.

The Roadrunners will open their seventh year of play on Saturday, Sept. 2, when it hosts Houston at the Alamodome. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
