Riley places fifth in long jump at Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association National Championships

KINGSTON, Jamaica — UTSA All-American Adrian Riley placed fifth in the long jump at last weekend's Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association National Championships.

The Roadrunners rising senior registered a leap of 25-5 ½ (7.76m) on his third attempt of the competition and that marked the second-best measurement of his career.

Ramone Bailey won the event with a jump of 26-9 ¼ (8.16m) on his sixth and final try of the day.

Riley is coming off a junior campaign that saw him earn second-team All-America honors earlier this month by virtue of his 15th-place finish at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. The junior from Kingston, Jamaica, leaped to a career-long measurement of 25-6 ¼ (7.78m) back on May 25 while competing in the decathlon at the Conference USA Championships in El Paso.
