Roadrunners to continue postseason competition at this weekend's NCAA Championships Preliminary Rounds

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA's women's track & field team will continue postseason competition this weekend when it competes at the NCAA Championships Preliminary Rounds. The three-day meet is scheduled to begin on Thursday at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin and a total of eight athletes will represent the Roadrunners in seven events.

Elesha Alyn (triple jump), Sierra Andres (1,600m relay), Jennifer Arinze (400m/1,600m relay), Shalise Borden (hammer), Syd Howells (100m/200m), Paige Patterson (400m/1,600m relay), Chelsea Taylor (1,600m relay) and N'Dia Warren-Jacques (shot put) will continue their season at this weekend's opening rounds of the national meet (click here for the complete meet schedule).

Arinze is the UTSA record holder in the 400 meters (53.40) and she is coming off a fourth-place performance at the Conference USA Championships in El Paso. Meanwhile, Patterson (fifth) Alyn (sixth), Borden (seventh) also are coming off top-eight efforts at the league meet.

Twelve competitors from each event and a dozen relay teams will advance from Austin to the NCAA Championships, which are scheduled for June 7-10 in Eugene, Ore.
