SAN ANTONIO — No. 27 Baylor blanked UTSA by a score of 10-0 on Tuesday night at Roadrunner Field.
Baylor (33-17) scored runs in the second, fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth innings with multiple runs in the three of those.
UTSA (28-23) was outhit, 14-9, with both teams committing a defensive miscue.
Roadrunners starter Chance Kirby was charged with the loss as he worked four innings on the mound. The right-hander surrendered three runs on six hits, struck out one and walked one.
Kirby's counterpart, Hayden Kettler received the win after giving up just two hits in a pair of innings.
All but three starters for UTSA registered at least one hit, while C.J. Pickering and Aldo Buendia each tallied two.
The Roadrunners will wrap up Conference USA play beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday when they host #15 Southern Miss (40-12) in the opener of a three-game series.
