UTSA women to continue campaign at Saturday's Houston Alumni Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's track & field team will be back in action on Saturday when it heads to the Bayou City for the Houston Alumni Invitational. The one-day meet is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m. at the Carl Lewis International Complex.

Athletes from Houston Baptist, Illinois, Rice, South Florida, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas Southern and Tulane will join the host Cougars and Roadrunners.

UTSA competed at the prestigious Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays last weekend.

The Roadrunners were led by the 1,600m relay quartet of Chelsea Taylor, Jennifer Arinze, Sierra Andres and Paige Patterson, who placed fifth on Saturday with their time of 3:41.32. The foursome qualified for the final with its clocking of 3:40.96, which was good for third in Friday's preliminary heats.

The women currently sit atop the league leaderboard in three disciplines.
