UTSA to travel to Austin for two-day Longhorn Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's track & field team will return to action this weekend when it travels to Austin for the Longhorn Invitational. The two-day meet is scheduled to get underway on Friday afternoon at Mike A. Myers Stadium (click here for the complete meet schedule).

Auburn, Houston, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Stanford, TCU, Tulane, Virginia Tech and Western Kentucky are expected to join the Roadrunners and host Longhorns for UTSA's penultimate meet leading up to next month's Conference USA Championships, which are scheduled to be contested from May 11-14 in El Paso.

The Roadrunners are coming off a very strong showing at last Saturday's J. Fred Duckett Twilight in Houston.

UTSA captured five gold medals and registered a total of 10 top-three finishes.

All-American and Conference USA leader Ty Anderson led a 1-2 Roadrunners finish in the high jump after clearing 6-11 (2.11m).

Meanwhile, Patrick Prince raced to a gold medal in the 110-medal hurdles after crossing the finish line in 14.07 and it marked his fourth victory in five races this spring.

Tyler Finke led three UTSA throwers that placed among the top four in the shot put with his measurement of 55-9 ¼ (17.00m) and Kaylon Sellers was victorious in the triple jump with his personal-record leap of 48-8 (14.83m).

Caleb Devereaux picked up the squad's other win when he topped the field of 16 runners in the 800 meters B section with his career-best time of 1:54.76.

The Roadrunners currently lead the league standings in four events (110m hurdles/400m hurdles//high jump/shot put) and they have a total of 10 top-three marks overall.
