AUSTIN — Patrick Prince raced to a fifth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles on Saturday to highlight the UTSA men's track & field team's final day of action at this weekend's Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Prince, who ran the top preliminary heats time on Friday (13.79), crossed the finish line in 13.97 in the field of nine finalists. The sophomore from Conroe came into the race with the second-best time in the country and he now stands tied for fourth. Illinois' David Kendziera won the title with a national-leading clocking of 13.60.
Meanwhile, the 800m relay foursome of Byron Taylor, Mikael Dawkins, Desmond Jefferson and Vasha Sheriff passed the baton in 1:23.67 en route to fourth place. LSU captured the gold medal in 1:20.82.
UTSA will return to action next Saturday, April 8, at the Houston Alumni Invitational.
