UTSA to head to Mexico for Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's golf team will travel to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, to compete at the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational. The three-day event is scheduled to tee off on Sunday at El Tigre Golf Club (par 72/6,085 yards).

The Roadrunners will face Cal State Fullerton, Coastal Carolina, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Rutgers, Washington and No. 49 Wisconsin.

The field will play 18 holes each day with 2 p.m. (CT) shotgun starts on Sunday and Monday and an 8:30 a.m. (CT) start on Tuesday.

This will the program's second international trip. UTSA traveled to Ensanada, Mexico, for the 2007 Baja Invitational, finishing third in a field of 13.

UTSA is coming off a 14th-place finish at the LSU Tiger Classic on March 24-26 in Baton Rouge, La. Julie Houston and Aimee Pointe tied for 34th to lead the way.

The Roadrunners have finished in the top 10 four times this season, including a win at the Texas State Invitational in February.
