COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — UTSA snapped a two-match losing streak with a 4-3 victory against Idaho State on Sunday.
The Roadrunners (6-6) jumped on top early by winning both completed doubles contests by identical 6-4 scores.
Lina Hallgren and Charleen Tiwari picked up their third consecutive victory on court three against the Bengals duo of Hristina Cvetkovic and Madison Fenske. Denisa Ibrahimovic and Sonia Madroñal Medinal then clinched the point against Melissa Coburn and Megan Poe, which snapped the duo's three-match losing skid.
Miriam Rosell Canudas extended the lead to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 win on center court against Cvetkovic and it was her 12th consecutive singles victory to open the dual match campaign. Kylee Kato followed with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph against Angela Walker at the sixth position in the lineup to push the advantage to three.
Idaho State (3-5) finally got on the board with Huibre-Mare Botes' 6-3, 6-2 decision against Ibrahimovic at the second spot, but Laura Cabrera clinched the win with her 6-2, 6-4 victory against Coburn on court four.
