IRVING — Adrian Riley was named Conference USA Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Riley scored a career-best 7,318 points en route to winning the decathlon at last weekend's Roadrunners Invitational. His point total currently leads the conference and ranks second nationally. The junior's score was bolstered by personal records in the 100 meters (10.87w), long jump (24-3/7.39m), 110m hurdles (15.57) and 1,500m (4:59.16).
It marks the second consecutive week that a Roadrunner picked up a weekly award from the league, as Patrick Prince was named its Track Athlete of the Week last Tuesday.
UTSA will be back in action on Thursday when it begins competition at the three-day Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin.
