IRVING — Patrick Prince was named Conference USA Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday
Prince sped to the fourth-best performance in program history, a 13.88, en route to a gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles last Saturday at the season-opening UTSA Invitational. It marked his second career victory in his specialty event and the mark was the second-fastest in the NCAA during the opening weekend of the outdoor season. Only Illinois' David Kendziera, who crossed the finish line in 13.73 at the UNLV Invitational, topped the sophomore from Conroe.
UTSA will return to action this weekend when it hosts the Roadrunners Invitational at Park West Athletics Complex. The three-day met is scheduled to begin on Thursday.
