SAN ANTONIO — After taking two of three games from UAB last weekend, the UTSA softball team will begin a four-game road swing on Tuesday with a non-conference contest at Lamar. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m. at the LU Softball Complex in Beaumont.
The Roadrunners (11-17, 2-4 C-USA) swept a conference doubleheader from the Blazers by scores of 6-3 and 8-0 (6 innings) on Friday before dropping the series finale, 6-1, on Saturday at Roadrunner Field.
Six Roadrunners are batting above .300, led by Lindsey Stewart's .400 average. Celeste Loughman (.366), Rylee Rodriguez (.344), Hailey Garza (.341), Angelica Nino (.324) and Taylor Oberg (.319) also contribute to an offense that is hitting .303 as a team.
Meanwhile, Lizzy Fox has eight wins and a 3.97 earned-run average to lead the pitching staff.
The Cardinals are riding a seven-game winning streak and enter Tuesday's matchup at 13-13 on the season.
