SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will play its final road game of the regular season and close a four-game road trip with a 6 p.m. matchup on Saturday at Florida Atlantic.
The Roadrunners (12-16, 7-8 C-USA) are coming off Thursday's dramatic 69-67 victory at FIU. Lucas O'Brien continued his hot streak with 17 points behind five 3-pointers, including a trey in the closing seconds that proved to be the winning bucket. Jeff Beverly added 17 points and seven rebounds for UTSA, which led by as much as 20 following a 23-2 in the first half.
O'Brien now leads the team with 25 3-pointers and the senior has hit 18 triples in his last eight games since entering the starting lineup.
Meanwhile, the Owls (9-17, 5-10 C-USA) have lost four of their last five following a three-game winning streak and they are coming off a 60-55 setback against UTEP on Thursday night. Florida Atlantic is led by Adonis Filer's 10.8 points per game and he is the only player on the squad averaging in double figures. The Owls instead have a balanced attack that features seven players that average at least 7.1. Ronald Delph averages 8.4 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per outing.
UTSA and Florida Atlantic have split the previous six meetings. The Roadrunners took a 68-63 victory against the Owls on Jan. 12 in San Antonio.
