SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will take to the road in Conference USA play for a pair of matchups this weekend, beginning with a 7 p.m. tilt at Southern Miss on Thursday.
The Roadrunners (6-8, 1-0 C-USA) have enjoyed success this season at home, where they have won all six of their games. Overall, the team has won four of its last five contests and is coming off a 67-55 victory against UTEP in its C-USA opener last Sunday. With its win against the Miners, UTSA is one of just 12 Division I programs to already better its win total from the 2015-16 season.
Gino Littles continued his hot streak with 11 points against UTEP and the junior is averaging 10 points per game since entering the starting lineup on Dec. 10 against Southeastern Oklahoma State. The former walk-on also has taken care of the basketball with just four turnovers in his last 200 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles (3-10, 0-1 C-USA) will look to snap a nine-game losing streak, which started after the team opened the campaign 3-1. All three of Southern Miss' wins have come at home, where it is 3-3 this season. Southern Miss is coming off a 79-55 setback last Sunday against Louisiana Tech in its C-USA opener. Quinton Campbell leads the team in scoring at 10.8 points per contest, while Tim Rowe nearly averages double figures at 9.9. Eddie Davis is the squad's leading rebounder at 6.5 rebounds per game, just ahead of Rowe's 6.4.
Southern Miss leads the all-time series, 3-2, with all three of its wins coming at Reed Green Coliseum.
