Riley tabbed Conference USA Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday

IRVING — Adrian Riley was tabbed Conference USA Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. It marks the second consecutive week that a Roadrunner has claimed the circuit's weekly award for field athletes.

Riley racked up a C-USA-leading 4,951 points in his first multi-event competition of the season en route to a silver medal at last weekend's Houston Invitational. The junior from Kingston, Jamaica, saw his score bolstered by a day one victory in the 60 meters (7.19) and he was in second place after the first day of four events with 2,878 points. Only Houston's Nathaniel Mechler, who scored 5,376 points, finished ahead of him in the two-day, seven-event competition.

UTSA will return to action this weekend at the prestigious Armory Invitational in New York City. The two-day meet is scheduled to begin on Friday.
