SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will close its three-game road trip at 3 p.m. on Saturday when it will take on WKU at E.A. Diddle Arena. The contest can be seen on FOX College Sports.
The Roadrunners (9-11, 4-3 C-USA) will look to bounce back from Thursday's 92-71 loss at Marshall and snap a two-game skid in the process. Gino Littles led the squad with a season-high 15 points to go along with a career-best eight rebounds. Byron Frohnen also neared a double-double with 12 points and nine boards, while leading scorer Jeff Beverly added 15 points.
UTSA neared a season high with 54 rebounds in the contest to raise its Conference USA-leading average to 41 boards per game, which ranks 10th in the nation. The Roadrunners totaled 20 offensive boards and turned those extra opportunities into 20 second-chance points on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Hilltoppers (10-11, 4-4 C-USA) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 65-62 win over UTEP on Thursday night. The victory evened the team's league mark at 4-4 and improved the Hilltoppers to 7-1 at home this season. The WKU offense averages 69.3 ppg and features a trio of players averaging at least 13.0 ppg, paced by Que Johnson's 14.3 ppg. Pancake Thomas, who netted 25 points in Thursday's win over the Miners, checks in at 13.5 ppg, while Justin Johnson owns 13.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per outing.
WKU has won both previous meetings in the series, including an 83-74 triumph on Jan. 24, 2015, in the Roadrunners' only other trip to WKU.
In addition to Saturday's television broadcast, the contest can be heard live in the San Antonio area on Ticket 760 AM beginning with the pregame show at 2:30 p.m. Andy Everett will have the call.
