Roadrunners to return to action at Saturday's Texas A&M Aggies Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's track & field team will return to action on Saturday at the Texas A&M Aggies Invitational. The one-day meet is scheduled to begin at noon at Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium and a rolling schedule of events will follow throughout the day (click here for a complete meet schedule).

The meet will feature athletes from Arizona State, Georgia, TCU, Texas Tech and UT Arlington in addition to the Roadrunners and host Aggies.

Reigning Conference USA Co-Field Athlete of the Week Elesha Alyn won the triple jump to pace the Roadrunners at last Saturday's season-opening Texas A&M Team Invitational.

After fouling on her first two attempts, Alyn skipped to a personal-best measurement of 40-7 (12.37m) on her third jump of the afternoon to top the field of eight athletes. The senior from Miami, Fla., captured the gold medal by five inches over Baylor's Rachel Toliver and it was an improvement of a foot and two inches from her previous career best. She shared the league's weekly award with Rice's Cybil Obiozor on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, four other Roadrunners registered personal records at the meet.
