UTSA to continue road trip at Utah Valley on Saturday night

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will continue its three-game road trip at 8:30 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, Dec. 3 when it takes on Utah Valley at the UCCU Center.

The Roadrunners (2-5) will look to bounce back from a 59-47 setback at Cal Poly on Thursday night. UTSA turned in another solid outing defensively as it held the Mustangs to a season-low point total and just 35.7 percent shooting. The squad has held three opponents to fewer than 60 points this season after doing so just once a season ago.

On the offensive end, Jeff Beverly continues to lead the squad and rank seventh in Conference USA at 16.7 points per game after finishing Thursday's game with 17 and a season-high nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Wolverines (4-2) will look to bounce back from an 83-76 loss at Washington State on Wednesday and they will look to remain unbeaten at home. Forward Kenneth Ogbe leads the team in scoring at 16.2 points per contest, while three other players are averaging double figures, including Isaac Neilson (14.2 ppg), Connor Toolson (13.2 ppg) and Brandon Randolph (10.5 ppg). Utah Valley is averaging 85.8 points and shooting 42.3 percent, but it also has allowed 81.0 points an outing and opponents are connecting at a 46.7 percent clip.

This will be the first of two meetings between the Roadrunners and Wolverines this season, as Utah Valley will visit San Antonio on Dec. 21. Utah Valley won the only previous meeting with UTSA, 83-78, last season at the Convocation Center.

Saturday's game can be heard live in the San Antonio area on The Bull 93.3 FM beginning with the pregame show at 8 p.m. (CT). Andy Everett will have the call.
